Port Macquarie 21.11.2011

The seaside is about 10mins walk from our motel. Went for a walk there and ended up at the Port Macquarie Bowling Centre for dinner. Drove around the town centre too but didn't take any picture.

Paddy's market in Sydney. Souvenirs here are the cheapest compare to all the places I went in Australia.
Buying seasonal fruits in the market. Peaches and nectarines are cheap. These are fruits that are rare in Malaysia and very expensive.

New Built TV Cabinet
Has been quite sometime since I was thinking of changing the design of the TV cabinet. The old one sort of built-in for the old type of TV. Since I have upgraded to LCD TV, there is a big space at the back its collecting dust. So I decided to call back the same carpenter to make the new cabinet.
The old cabinet
The new cabinet
Been using it for the past week and I think its much better than the old one. The TV is now place in the centre and lower and make viewing more condusive. It cost me RN3800 to make this cabinet and I very satisfied with it.

My Broken Heart
he has heart disease.
Today, I will be celebrating his 54th Birthday. Instead I am greiving. Life is uncertain, only death is.
A healthy looking person at one moment, and the next hour left us forever.
There were so many plans we wanted to do during our retirement years........but all that will become a dream.
For this I would like to dedicate the Metta Loving Kindness to my beloved departed hubby
May he be at peace
May he be at ease
May he be happy
May he be safe

Vee's Delicooker 1st Aniversary
This blog has been like an abandon project. Today, I just log-in to see what's happening and I found that a lot of people visited my blog while searching on the Delicooker. Hence, I would like to update after one year of use. Well, one thing for sure is my delicooker is not heavily used nor seldom used.
The condition after one year. The line is still there. The stove on the left side is hardly used. Most of the time I use the right side because of the smaller ring for smaller pots and also its has the high button which I used to get the cooking pan heat up faster.
The condition after one year. The line is still there. The stove on the left side is hardly used. Most of the time I use the right side because of the smaller ring for smaller pots and also its has the high button which I used to get the cooking pan heat up faster. The problem is water will stain the stove into white patches. Especially if the bottom of the pot is wet, it will create a white stain onto the stove or sometime when cooking water splash onto the stove. So to clean these white patches, I have no other choice but to use the green scouring pad.....and according to Vees Marketing, the stove is scratch proof. Unfortunately its not. If you look closely, there is already plenty of scratches from the scouring pad.
In my experience after one year use, the stove has so far not created any problem. I guess the heating capacity is still the same without any loss in the heating ability. Cooking wise, as good as using gas. Most convenient is toasting bread on the stove. Very fast but if you are not careful then you will end up with burnt toast.

Father-in-law last rites
The significant of white cloth at the door. Notice the right side is longer than the left. It denotes the male of the family passed away.
The lantern to signify its the Chang family
Only 3 of us participating in the prayers, hubby, eldest daughter and me. There could be more but unfortunately one of my sister-in-law is in Rwanda and could not come back, the other sister-in-law is a muslim and could not participate and my other daughter in Australia and I told her that its not necessary to come back.
The tomb in Thai Bhuddist temple in Taiping. Took the ashes to Taiping in the morning, perform the prayers and then came back. Reached back KL at around 6.30pm. So tiring.

Lunch at Oriental Pavilion
I decided to give my hubby a birthday treat this weekend, since he won't be around for his birthday. So we decided to go to Jaya 33 for lunch at Oriental Pavilion. The resturant look elegant and spacious. At the same time, there was also a wedding lunch reception in a separate area, so I suppose the private room should also be quite big. Since its for my loh kung birthday, we order the set meal instead of tim sum. Unfortunately, at this time of the day, I guess the norm is serving tim sum because we waited for almost an hour before our first course arrive and the next table to us already have 2 round of customers came and gone. But when our first course finally came, it was too quick for me but not for my hubby who is a fast eater. Before, I could finish the first course, the second is already serve until the last. At the end of it we have to wait another 10 mins for our simple dessert to arrive. In conclusion, the service is very poor. I asked a few times to let me know how long to wait, but did not get any answer. At least they should have to courtesy to let me know how long the wait. Then we have to wait again for about 10 mins for the dessert to arrive and then waited for around 15 mins for the bill to arrive. Eventhough the food is good and cost me RM207.00 for 2 persons including a pot of chinese tea, the waiting have made my first visit the last to Oriental Pavilion. I am a usual patron of Maju Palace and I have no problem there.

3rd Course: Pan-Fried Iberico Pork Chop in Chef's Special Sauce, served to me on a chipped plate. The pork is tender and taste good.
2nd course: Double-Boiled Shark's Fin Soup with Shark's Bone
There is no shark fin inside this soup, except for some pinkish colour shred of something which I presummed is shark's bone.

3rd Course: Pan-Fried Iberico Pork Chop in Chef's Special Sauce, served to me on a chipped plate. The pork is tender and taste good.
4th course: Sauteed Black Fungus with Kai Lan
5th Course: Steamed Fresh Water Prawn with Glutinous Rice . I also love this dish. The glutinous rice is delicious
